Community block grants from the City of Upland help us to maintain quality materials and programs.   The Recreation Department of the City of Upland provides overall program management by hiring staff and administering the programs at the direction of the Board Members of the Upland Community Partnership.

The City of Upland's Police Department has been an important partner from the beginning of our program.  With their help we are able to document our success in reducing gangs and crime in our target areas. Chief Steve Adams is a very active member of our board.

 Upland Unified School District staff participate as Board Members and help to assure that our after-school programs are tied closely to staff at the schools our students attend. The Healthy Start Program, run by the Upland Unified School District, provides services to needy children.  It has been shown that children cannot learn and be part of the community when there physical and emotional needs are not being met.

Upland Interfaith Council supports the fundraising efforts of the Partnership and provides a liaison member to the Board.

The Upland YMCA, which also provides after-school programs, has participated with the Upland Community Partnership to coordinate activities.  What is the difference between our programs?  The YMCA after school programs take place at school sites (a fee is charged) where Upland Community Partnership programs take place in residential areas and are totally supported through donations and grants.  Both programs serve a community need.
